Rose hips are the red fleshy berries of the Rose plant, Rosa canina. These are pseudo fruits which are particularly high in Vitamin C, carotenoid, polyphenols, and various flavonoids. The seeds found in these fruits is the source of the essential oil, this oil have shown tremendous activities of regeneration of skin cells due to presence of higher amounts of polyunsaturated fatty acids. Also, they show presence of galactolipids which have strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that stimulates the synthesis and regeneration of collagen underneath the epidermis.
