Bunn passed on this idea to his son, Benjamin H. Bunn, who, at the age of 19 and attending Crain Engineering High School, invented the Automatic Package Tying Machine for bundling mail. By the 1930s, Benjamin's invention had expanded to tying newspapers, laundry, bakery boxes, and printed materials.
