About Seller: CALICO is a workshop and studio founded by Chris Webster, who has a background in desert living and urban exploration. Specializing in furniture design, home goods, and architectural fixtures, we excel at milling solid wood into intricate shapes. Our clientele includes artists, the entertainment industry in LA, as well as other manufacturers and brands. We infuse modern design with industrial expertise, distilled from observing industry leaders, to create accessible products.
Initially, Chris encountered challenges with high minimum orders from domestic manufacturers when designing his furniture lines. Embracing a "do it ourselves" attitude, CALICO now proudly serves the creative community in LA. Our core values revolve around sustainability and enhancing quality of life for all individuals. We strive to avoid exploitative practices towards both the environment and individuals. Embracing a 4-day workweek, 4 weeks of annual vacation, and fair compensation, we prioritize ethical manufacturing practices. We are committed to avoiding projects that contribute to waste or utilize harmful materials. CALICO demonstrates that it is possible to run a successful manufacturing business while upholding these principles, a commitment we have upheld since our inception.
