About Seller: Chicago Metal Manufacturing Company was established in 1908. In 1923, George F. Hauf, the grandfather of the current management, acquired the company. In 1984, Chicago Metal Rolled Products (CMRP) specialized in curving steel and aluminum structural members, as well as sheet and plate. In 1992, CMRP purchased the largest angle roll in the Western hemisphere, known as "Big Bend," which could curve 36 in. beams. The acquisition of Wallace Tube in 1994 added pipe- and tube-bending capabilities to CMRP. In 1996, CMRP acquired a second large angle roll and implemented a rapid response system for turnaround times. An on-time delivery program was established, maintaining a 98-percent on-time shipping record. In 1999, CMRP began operating the world's largest structural roll-curving machine in a new 100,000-square-foot facility. Technology was developed to bend structurals to tight radiuses with minimal distortion. By 2001, CMRP expanded its capacity to include 14-, 16-, 18-, and 20-inch diameter pipe rolling. In 2002, CMRP introduced compound rolling, off-axis rolling, and helical rolling for various structural steel applications. A new rolling facility was opened in Kansas City, MO, in 2004 to better serve customers in the central, southern, and western United States.
