About Seller: Cratex is a manufacturer of specialized abrasives products primarily used for metal, glass, and lapidary conditioning and finishing. With a history spanning approximately seventy years, Cratex is known for manufacturing rubberized abrasives with abrasive grains evenly distributed throughout the rubber to ensure consistent performance from start to finish. These rubberized abrasives are commonly used for the final finishing of ferrous metals, titanium, and glass, and are available in coarse (C), medium (M), fine (F), and extra fine (XF) grains in a variety of shapes and sizes.
Additionally, Cratex MX products offer laminated, non-woven fabric and aluminum oxide, type 1 wheels and mounted shapes, ideal for achieving metal removal with fine finishes on aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and ferrous metals. These products are also available in type 27 wheels and various bond strengths.
Cratex also manufactures regulating wheels for centerless grinding, using calendered rubber for superior performance. These regulating wheels are available in 12-inch diameters, various widths, and recesses.
Brightboy rubberized abrasives, available in similar shapes and sizes as Cratex products, offer different formulations including very soft and firm wheels for specific applications. Firm wheels are particularly effective on ferrous metals requiring both metal removal and excellent finishes. Brightboy products can be custom formulated for specific manufacturing processes involving metal finishing.
