About Seller: Electric Indicator Company (ELINCO) was established in 1926 in Stamford, Connecticut with the purpose of manufacturing instruments and controls for electric utility companies. During World War II, the company ventured into the specialty fractional horsepower motor industry and has been designing and producing high-performance precision electric motors in Connecticut ever since. The company relocated to various cities in Connecticut over the years, finally settling in Fairfield and Bridgeport in 2000. In that year, some of the US motor manufacturing operations were moved to Asia, while light manufacturing and value-added processes were consolidated in Fairfield and Bridgeport. In 1991, Elinco acquired Japanese Products Corporation, which provided a significant salesforce and access to high technology products from Nidec-Servo (formerly Japan Servo), a global manufacturer of Brushless DC motors. Japanese Products Corporation was founded in 1969 by an engineer from Perkin Elmer and focused on distributing motors and fans from Japan Servo Company (now Nidec Servo) across North America. The company experienced rapid growth in various markets, including Hard Disk Drives, throughout the 1970s and 1980s. It continued expanding in the 1990s and 2000s, serving industries such as medical devices, lighting, automotive, and telecommunications. Elinco JPC, along with its sister company Elinco International, Inc., specializes in manufacturing brushless DC motors. The company boasts a team of experienced executives and managers in the motor and air moving products field, with a strong sales network in North America and established relationships in Asia and Europe. Their main focus is on brushless DC motors and cooling fans, as well as value-added operations involving encoders, gears, gearboxes, standalone drivers/controllers, and fully integrated motion or cooling systems. Elinco JPC is known for pioneering the Hysteresis Synchronous motor technology and being a leader in slotless brushless D.C. motors. They have a strong proprietary and patented position in slotless brushless D.C. motor technology, having produced over 6000 such motors. In 1993, Elinco JPC acquired the General Electric SELSYN motor line, followed by the acquisition of the Inertial motor product line in 1994, which was relocated from Doylestown, Pennsylvania to the Norwalk plant. The Inertial products are known for their extremely low inertia and rapid acceleration capabilities. Additionally, in 1994, a portion of the Philips Airpax motor line was acquired by Elinco JPC.
