About Seller: Globe Plastics, Inc. was founded on October 15, 1958 in Pomona, California by Roy and Marion Cramer. Roy, a retired engineer from General Dynamics, spearheaded the company's initial focus on a proprietary line of transistor pads that offered cost-effective solutions for challenges in semi-conductor production handling and assembly. Through in-house tooling manufacturing, Globe quickly established itself as a leader in the electronics industry. Over the years, the company expanded its expertise in advanced engineering materials, delving into compression and injection molding of high-strength composites for the aerospace/defense sector.
In 1979, Globe acquired the Encapsulation Cup line from Polytop Corporation in Fullerton, CA, followed by the purchase of the Encapsulation line from MG Precision Products of South El Monte, CA in 1982. This led to Globe having two proprietary lines of thermoset and thermoplastic transistor pads, as well as compression and transfer molded Encapsulation cups. In 1988, entrepreneurs Nywood Wu and Clifton Chang acquired the company to enhance their defense-based contract manufacturing capabilities, positioning Globe as a minority-owned composite molding firm with a strong presence in the aerospace/defense industry.
Following the defense industry downturn in 1992, Globe shifted focus to compression molding SMC and BMC materials for Globe Composites components in the sound and lighting industries, offering superior quality and value compared to existing materials. This expansion continued over the years, leading to the establishment of a joint venture with Moldzen Precision in Dong Guan, China in 2004 to form Globe Composites Far East, specializing in thermoset and thermoplastic molding of parts in various sizes.
By 2008, Globe achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification and later became an AS 9100C certified firm, listed on the Oasis database to assure customers of its commitment to quality, consistency, and reliability. Today, Globe Plastics remains a prominent player in the industry, with six decades of experience and a strong focus on continuous improvement in manufacturing capabilities, quality systems, and process expertise.
