About Seller: Harwood Engineering Company, established in 1947, specializes in the design and production of pressure components and systems for the containment, generation, piping, valving, control, and measurement of flow and pressure at extremely high levels in liquids and gases. Since our inception, we have provided commercial equipment capable of handling pressures up to 200,000 psi, making us the leading supplier of equipment above 3 Kilobar (45,000 psi) in the United States.
Over the years, Harwood has pioneered the "Controlled Clearance" principle, which serves as the foundation for primary pressure standards exceeding the manometer level, up to 30 kbar, that are utilized worldwide. Presently, we are developing primary force standards using a variation of this principle in a new apparatus. With a history spanning five decades, we have manufactured equipment capable of producing pure isostatic pressures up to 30 Kilobar (430,000 psi) at both room and elevated temperatures.
Furthermore, we produce presses capable of generating up to 10,000 tons of quasihydrostatic pressures, essential for applications such as diamond manufacturing and fundamental research in physics, geophysics, and geochemistry. Our target market is relatively niche, requiring a personalized approach to meet customer specifications. While our marketing efforts do not align with traditional agency models, organizations interested in high-pressure activities can find ample recognition of our contributions in published works by industry experts and our own research articles.
