About Seller: In his youth, S.J. Hoffmann recognized the necessity for feed storage systems while working on silos in Illinois and Indiana. In the early 1940s, he established a concrete stave manufacturing and construction firm in Cissna Park, Illinois. A second facility was opened in 1950 in Muscatine, Iowa, where Hoffmann, Inc. is currently located. In response to the growing demand for larger storage structures, Hoffmann, Inc. expanded its operations in the 1970s to include the construction of cast-in-place reinforced concrete silos. The utilization of the jumpform technique enabled Hoffmann, Inc. to construct industrial bulk storage silos for various materials such as coal, grain, wood, limestone, kaolin, cement products, fly ash, and water. This led to the company's involvement in the design and construction of concrete chimneys and steel stacks. In the early 1980s, Hoffmann, Inc. incorporated slipform construction into its capabilities, allowing for the construction of stair towers, large diameter silos, silos with common walls, and chimneys. Subsequently, in the 1990s, Hoffmann expanded its services to include the fabrication of steel components for its projects. A 15,000 square feet steel fabrication facility was then built to provide fabricated steel items for its customer base, catering to various industrial and construction needs. Today, Hoffmann, Inc. is under the ownership of Kristin Lee, the great-granddaughter of founder S.J. Hoffmann. Through the delivery of high-quality products, specialized construction services, and personalized attention, Hoffmann, Inc. continues to uphold its legacy of excellence.
