About Seller: S.J. Hoffmann recognized the necessity for feed storage systems while constructing silos in Illinois and Indiana as a young man. In the early 1940s, he established a concrete stave manufacturing and construction company in Cissna Park, Illinois. A second facility was opened in 1950 in Muscatine, Iowa, where Hoffmann, Inc. is currently headquartered. In response to the growing demand for larger storage structures, Hoffmann, Inc. diversified its operations in the 1970s to include the construction of cast-in-place reinforced concrete silos utilizing the jumpform technique. These silos were designed for the storage of various materials including coal, grain, wood, limestone, kaolin, cement products, fly ash, and water. This expansion also led Hoffmann, Inc. to venture into the design and construction of concrete chimneys and steel stacks. In the early 1980s, slipform construction was incorporated into the company's capabilities, enabling the construction of stair towers, large diameter silos, silos with common walls, and chimneys. By the 1990s, Hoffmann, Inc. had expanded its services to include the fabrication of steel components for its projects. A 15,000 square foot steel fabrication facility was subsequently established to supply fabricated steel items to its customer base, catering to a wide range of industrial and construction needs. Currently under the ownership of Kristin Lee, the great-granddaughter of founder S.J. Hoffmann, Hoffmann, Inc. upholds its tradition of excellence by delivering quality products through specialized construction and personalized service.
