About Seller: Indiana Rubber & Plastics was established in 1988 by the third generation of a family with a long history in the custom molding industry. Our roots can be traced back to Firestone Industrial Products, the inventor of the air ride shock in 1938. Kenneth Pickett, a former employee of Firestone, founded Iris Rubber Company, Inc. in 1956, specializing in custom molded rubber, silicone, and urethane parts. In 1974, his daughter Wanda Chatel took over as President and owner, marking the second generation in the family business. In 1982, a new member joined the company, representing the third generation. Following a decline in sales in 1984, Iris Rubber Company was sold, leading to the establishment of Indiana Rubber & Plastics in 1988. Our mission is to enhance customer accessibility to custom molded rubber and plastics by implementing innovative cost-saving measures without compromising quality. In 2013, Wanda Chatel passed away and the leadership transitioned to the third generation. With a strong background in manufacturing methods related to plastics and rubber, we strive to stay abreast of industry trends, advancements, and best practices. Our objective is to provide our customers with the most cost-effective solutions through creativity and manufacturing innovation, rather than relying on low labor costs or outsourcing overseas. We are committed to achieving breakthroughs in efficiency, economics, and quality for the benefit of our valued clients.
