About Seller: In 1968, the development of a piezoelectrically driven artificial heart posed significant challenges for available ferroelectric materials and actuator fabrication methods, leading to pioneering advancements in these areas by Physics International, the parent company of Kinetic Ceramics. Throughout the 1970s, the first piezoelectric diesel fuel injection systems were developed, requiring high reliability and power density, ultimately advancing piezoelectric actuator technology. This technology was patented and trademarked as the Piezomotor in 1985. The establishment of Kinetic Ceramics as a separate entity from the parent company occurred in 1986. Since then, Kinetic Ceramics has successfully developed piezoelectric diesel and gasoline direct injection systems, as well as valve actuation systems for camless engines. Additionally, the company has expanded its business by supplying piezomotor actuators, translation devices, and complete piezoelectric systems to various industries. For instance, the introduction of the Kinetic Ceramics fast tool servo in 1998 revolutionized contact lens manufacturing by enabling direct machining of toric lenses at spindle speeds up to 6,000 RPM, a feat previously deemed impossible.
