Technical Expertise: Our sales and technical team possesses over 60 years of hands-on experience in body work, painting, and buffing within the automotive, marine, and aerospace industries. Our team members have diverse backgrounds, from body shops to the refurbishing of collector cars and airplanes. We have a professional detailer who regularly participates in the Barrett-Jackson auctions. Lake Country's facility is equipped with advanced testing operations and a professional-grade buffing station designed to replicate body shop conditions. We have a deep understanding of foam formulations and their buffing properties, and we source foams from manufacturers worldwide. Our use of state-of-the-art measuring equipment ensures accurate product and system evaluations.
History: Lake Country Manufacturing was established in 1977 when Jim Schneider acquired the former Milwaukee Tanning company from the Knoernschild family. Originally founded in 1883, Milwaukee Tanning produced sheepskin apparel, powder puffs, leather dice cups, and sheepskin buffing pads. Under Jim's ownership, the company shifted its focus solely to the buffing industry. Starting in a 10,000 square foot building in Merton, Wisconsin, Lake Country has since relocated twice, with its current 82,000 square foot facility in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Over the past 40 years, Lake Country has expanded to offer a wide range of professional buffing and polishing products for the automotive, marine, aviation, and composite industries, now available in over 50 countries worldwide. We continue to invest in upgrading and automating our manufacturing operations to deliver the highest quality and consistent products on the market.
