About Seller: THE HISTORY OF MASTER CRAFT
Founded in 1952 by Mr. John Haswell, Master Craft originated from his vision of owning a tool and die company which eventually expanded into a metal stamping plant. Seizing an opportunity due to his employer's overwhelming workload, Mr. Haswell quickly acquired a mill to meet the demand. Over the next decade, Master Craft flourished, employing over 200 individuals and significantly increasing equipment capacity. The company's client list expanded to include major corporations such as Ford, GM, and Chrysler, producing a variety of metal stampings, automobile pulleys, and assembly components.
In the 1970s, Master Craft diversified into system manufacture and assembly, securing a contract with a Ford tractor company for building truck-mounted backhoes. The success of this venture prompted Mr. Haswell to explore a new product niche - the rough terrain forklift. With a dedicated team of engineers and production planners, Master Craft launched the innovative Ford-powered forklift at the 1976 Material Handling Show in Chicago, earning acclaim for its unique design and functionality.
Relocating to Tifton, Georgia in 1975, Master Craft continued to expand its market presence by establishing a robust dealership network. Today, Master Craft forklifts are utilized across fifty different industry segments on three continents, solidifying the company's position as a top 5 manufacturer in the US with 11% market share. Remaining a family-owned business, Master Craft attributes its success to a commitment to quality, strong dealer relationships, and a rich heritage of producing durable equipment designed to last for generations.
