About Seller: During the early 1960s, Roy Hill, a sales engineer at General Electric, identified a market demand for small, injection molded plastic components. In a suburb of Chicago, he established Micro Plastic, Inc. in his garage, dedicating nights and weekends to lay the groundwork for his aspirations. His strategy for success revolved around competitive pricing and consistent quality. As the business grew, he relocated the operations to a 5,000 square foot molding facility and tooling shop, freeing up space in his garage. By the mid-1970s, Roy and his wife Marilyn realized that the urban location was impeding the desired growth rate of the business. Intrigued by The Ozarks and Bull Shoals Lake, they made the bold decision to relocate the entire enterprise to Flippin, Arkansas, with a population of 1,000. By the mid-1980s, the company had expanded to 50,000 square feet and employed over 200 workers. By the end of the decade, the company had reached 100,000 square feet and employed 300 individuals. Despite the economic downturn in the early 1990s, Micro Plastics thrived due to its diversified portfolio. The company seized opportunities during the tech boom, leading to further expansion and job creation. With the implementation of automation and robotics in the new Research and Development department, Micro Plastics achieved a high level of operational efficiency by the year 2000, essential for competitiveness in a demanding market. Today, Tom Hill, Roy's son, is steering the company towards the future. Tom's extensive experience in technology and various departments of the company since the age of 16 has facilitated the company's expansion into global markets such as the UK, Europe, Mexico, Australia, China, and Russia. With ISO certification underscoring its commitment to serving the international business sector, Micro Plastics has evolved into the world's largest manufacturer of threaded nylon fasteners, fulfilling Roy's vision from the 1960s.
