About Seller: Wire Cut Co. specializes in manufacturing wire EDM machining wire parts tailored to specific EDM process applications. Established in November 1978 by Milton M. Thomas, the company started with a single wire EDM machine, a programming system, and a 150 sq. ft. office space dedicated to electrical discharge machining services. Due to overwhelming demand, Wire Cut expanded in October 1979 to accommodate its first employee and an additional electrical discharge machining services equipment. Following incorporation in 1981, the company faced challenges in 1982 despite a 35% sales growth, as banks were hesitant to finance expansion during a perceived recession. Wire Cut, however, remained resilient and continued to grow. By 1983, the company had outgrown its original facilities and relocated to a larger space where it operated for 13 years. Business flourished, and by 1986, Wire Cut had 24 team members, 10 wire EDM machining centers, 6 conventional EDM machines, and added machining capabilities to support tooling. The period from 1987 to 1989 saw Wire Cut heavily involved in the expanding Aerospace electrical discharge machining industry, securing contracts with major companies like General Electric. This success led to the acquisition of more wire EDM machines, high-speed EDM drilling equipment, and CNC machining centers. The company's workforce grew to 34 employees, and the leasing space expanded to an 8000 sq. ft. EDM job shop facility.
