Overview

 

Red cabbage, also called purple cabbage, is slightly sweet, and its leaves are dark purplish in colour. This vegetable is found throughout the year in supermarkets or grocery shops.

The leaves are flat-topped, cylindrical, spherical, or oval-shaped. They usually have leaves with a rounded shape and average in size. 

There are two types of cabbage- red and green cabbage.

Red cabbage is cultivated all over Europe. This plant bears with flower spikes and cultivated in cold weather in the spring season.

Recipes

 

1. Red Cabbage Salad

Ingredients: - 4 cups sliced red Cabbage,4 carrots grated, 2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint,2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil, 2 tablespoons lime juice, 1 tablespoon honey, 1 tablespoon sesame oil, 1 tablespoon sliced ginger

Cooking Steps: Mix lime juice, honey, sesame oil, sliced ginger. Add sliced red Cabbage, grated carrots, chopped fresh mint, and chopped fresh basil and stir together. Now it's ready to serve. 

 

2. Red Cabbage Sauce 

Ingredients: ¼ cup vinegar, ¼ cup olive oil, ¼ cup soya sauce, 1 small sliced red cabbage

Cooking Steps: Mix the vinegar, olive oil, and soya sauce in a bowl. Add sliced Cabbage in a separate bowl. Pour vinegar mixture over the Cabbage, and mix it. Now, sauce is ready to taste.
