Lady’s finger, which is also known as okra or bhendi, is the most cooked vegetable in India. It is rich in vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants.
Lady’s finger mostly grows in warm regions and can also be grown in cold regions with proper care. It is part of the Malvaceae family and grows by bearing a flower on the plant.

1. Crispy lady’s finger

Ingredients: 250 grams lady’s finger, 1/2 cup gram flour, 1 tsp rice flour, 1 tsp chilli powder, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp chat masala, 1/2 tsp carom seeds, salt, and oil.


Cooking steps: Cut the lady’s finger into half vertically after removing their edges. Remove the seeds within and mix all the ingredients except the oil. Let this mixture rest for 10-15 minutes. Deep fry them in oil. Your crispy lady’s finger is ready to serve.


2. Curd okra

Ingredients: 10 lady’s finger, 2-3 onions, garlic, ginger, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, chilli powder, curd, black mustard seeds, cumin seeds, green chilli, salt, and garam masala.


Cooking steps: Cut the lady’s finger to medium size. Deep fry the lady’s finger and onions separately and keep them aside. Make a paste of fried onions. Take some oil in a pan and keep it on low flame. Add the rest of the ingredients except the curd. Cook it well and add curd and lady’s finger in it. After 1-2 minutes, turn off the stove and serve it hot with tortillas.
